Submit Your Hours

This section of our site is password-protected.  If you are unfamiliar with how to log on and use this area, please see the instructions below.

How To Log On
Start by going to this web address: http://secondchanceforanimals.org/membersmenu.php

Look for the link “Log On Here” and click on it. You will log on using your email address on file and a valid password.

First visit and forgotten passwords – If you know your password, you can log on. If this is your first visit or you forgot your password, click the link to have a new one set to you.

You will enter your last name and current email address (home or work – as long as we have it in our records.) Once you click the “Request Password” button, the information will be validated against Second Chance’s active member’s database.

If your information is not found or your email address does not match or you are listed as inactive, you will be automatically sent to a “Sorry” message. Otherwise, a randomly selected password will be created and emailed to the email address(es) on file.

Your new password will be emailed almost immediately. If you don’t get your email within a few minutes, we may either have the wrong email address or a spam blocker may be stopping the mail from coming in. Mail will come from: SCFA Web Administrator webadmin@secondchanceforanimals.org. If you are blocking mail from unknown addresses, please add this address to the accepted list.

Once you receive your new password, click on the link in the email message (or copy and paste into a browser window) to open up a web browser directly to the screen with the log on form. (Note: This is the same form as you will use for logging on for all subsequent visits.)

The Log On Form - You will enter your email address, temporary or permanent password and click the “Log On” button. The information you entered is validated against the database. If the validation is successful, then one of two things will happen:

 If this is a temporary password, you must change it to a password only you know. A screen will appear to prompt you through the process.

 If you have a permanent password, you will be returned to the member’s menu page which will now display additional choices.

Members Menu After Successful Log On –

You now have links in the left column for changing your password, submitting hours, displaying a report of the hours you already submitted, updating personal information, and adding or viewing emergency contact information.

Viewing Hours – click the link “Show My Hours.” A list of each individual entry will be shown along with a summary at the bottom of the screen. (Note - you haven't reported any hours, then you not see anything here! Or it may be possible that they have not yet been entered. If you did report hours that do not appear here, contact volunteers@secondchanceforanimals.org before entering them yourself.

Entering Hours –

• Click the “Submit My Hours” link.
• The first screen displayed will ask for the number of entry lines you will need to enter all your hours. You can submit your hours by each date and category, or total them by category up to a current date. If you are going to submit by date and category, then you need a line for each date/category combination. If you want to total your hours by category, then you only need a line per category. Decide how many lines are required and enter the number. (If you don't enter enough lines, you can always repeat the process until you have all your hours entered.) The next screen will display a form with the appropriate number of entry lines. You can try one entry at a time until you get the hang of it.
• Adjust the date to reflect when you worked the hours, enter the number of hours and select the activity from the dropdown list by clicking the arrow to the right of the box.
• Once you are finished filling in all the lines, click the “Submit” button to post the information.

Problems Using The Password-Protected Members Areas
