Second Chance for Animals, Inc. is a nonprofit volunteer group devoted to enhancing the lives, adoption rates, and experiences of the animals living in shelters. We currently assist the Franklin Township, NJ Animal Shelter. Learn more about us here, To learn more about adopting a pet from the Franklin Township Animal Shelter, please visit their web page at the petfinder.org web. SCFA always need volunteers! Due to cut-backs at the Township our help is needed more than ever. We can always use folks in all areas of our group. Call 732 748-SCFA (7232) and let us know you would like to help. Be sure to leave a clear message and include how we can reach you. You must be 18 or older in order to work with the animals. Important news - the Franklin Township Animal Shelter is now open for adoptions Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:30 in addition to Tuesday-Saturday 12 - 3PM. We hope this will make it easier for working people to be able to find their new pets. (Volunteers are still welcome to come for our regularly scheduled socialization period which also is Thursday evenings between 5:30 and 7:30.) Please Support Our Dog Walk Sponsors and Event Partners. We thank them for their generosity and support!
Our annual Paws for a Cause Dog Walk is scheduled for Sunday, May 19th from 11 am - 2pm.
The 2013 Tricky Tray is scheduled for Friday, October 25. It will be at the Ukrainian Center again. To donate or for more info please email ttinfo@secondchanceforanimals.org or call 732-748-7232. We have just started planning this event so please check back for more details.
SCFA is pleased to announce that we are the receipient of a $1,200 grant from the North Brunswick Humane Association. This grant will be used for our spay and neuter program in support of the Franklin Township Animal Shelter in Somerset NJ. Grant Award: SCFA is happy to announce that we are the recipients of a $5000 grant from the Banfield Charitable Trust! This grant assists us with our program of providing pet food to the Franklin Food Bank. The Banfield Charitable Trust joins us in our belief that helping needy families feed their pets enables the families to keep the pets in the home where they are loved and cherished. We understand how terrible it is for both the families and the pets when forced to surrender the pets to a shelter. It also helps the shelter by reducing the number of surrendered animals. You can learn more about the Banfield Charitable Trust by visiting their website or at their Facebook page.
In memory of special friends....
