Second Chance for Animals, Inc. is a nonprofit volunteer group devoted to enhancing the lives, adoption rates, and experiences of the animals living in shelters. We currently assist the Franklin Township, NJ Animal Shelter. Learn more about us here, To learn more about adopting a pet from the Franklin Township Animal Shelter, please visit their web page at the petfinder.org web.

Our first annual walk-a-thon, Paws for a Cause, was a great success! Our thanks to all the people who came out to walk (with and without their four-legged friends), raised pledges, our sponsors and our volunteers. We look forward to an even bigger and better event next year and hope to see you there.

Pet Spotlight Cruella who has been featured on our site for some time has found a home! A wonderful person who saw her potential has given her a second chance. To Cruella and her new mom: we wish you a long and happy life together. Watch for a new pet spotlight to be posted soon. .

Cruella, and many wonderful pets are available at the:  Franklin Township Animal Shelter 475 DeMott Lane Somerset, NJ 08873 732 873-2500 X 255 Hours: M-F 10 AM - 4 PM; Saturday 12 Noon - 3 PM You can also find out more about the Shelter and view pictures of all our animals at www.petfinder.org .SCFA also bring animals for adoption to the PetsMart in Bridgewater, NJ (near the Ball Park) each Saturday between 10:30 AM - 3 PM Did you know that since the Franklin Township animal shelter is a member of petfinders.org, any pets you adopt from here qualify for two months of free ShelterCare Pet Insurance. The premiums for this period is paid for by petfinder.org. Read more about it... Kuranda Dog beds give our dogs a cozy, dry, elevated place to sleep but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for one of our dogs to sleep in comfort, please click here.
